COOLGREANY

St Patrick’s Day Parade

The Coolgreany St. Patrick’s Day Committee would like to thank everybody who helped to make our 13th parade a massive success! It is a huge event for a small community to take on each year, and every year we are astonished by the amount of people who turn out to lend a hand. We want to congratulate Kieran Byrne on becoming this year’s Grand Marshal a very well deserved honour. We would like to thank the Merrigan family for the use of the field, it couldn’t be done without it.

A special thank you to all the businesses who sponsored the event, we are blessed with so many community minded business owners in our little community. Thanks to our judges, our MC John for a brilliant job, our stewards, our brilliant traffic management team who give up their day to man the roads around the village. Pat and Jimmy for the massive job they do each year. Finally a big thank you to people who made food and teas for the event. Congratulations to all our winners and please God we will see you all back again next year.

Coolgreany Tidy Towns.

There is a vacancy for a CE worker in the village to help with flower beds and general upkeep. Apply to Siobhan at St Mogue’s. Spring clean time is here and there will be litter picking next week and the committee are looking for helpers on each road around the village and beyond.

There was a recent meeting between Croghan View residents and the Tidy Towns for people to express their views on work that needs to be done, and where a large number of residents attended
