Ballyellis NS split-the-pot

winner of split-the-pot on Friday, May 27, was Chloe Fitzgerald, Ballytarsna, Gorey winning €200. Split-the-pot’ envelopes can be had from any parent in the school or by calling into the school. Many thanks to everyone for your support. It is much appreciated.

GAA lotto

There was no winner of the last draw in the Kilrush-Askamore GAA lotto. The numbers were 11, 29, 31 and 32. The lucky dips went to Barbara Binions, Tomas Kinsella, Jimmy Owens, Linda Quinn. Seller Prize: Patrick Kinsella. The next draw takes place on Tuesday, June 14, in Ferns St Aidan’s GAA grounds, Ballyroebuck at 10 p.m. The jackpot is rising and now stands at €19,200. If you are not in, you can’t win.

Dances of Universal Peace

Dances of Universal Peace will continue on Friday, July 1; Friday, August 5, and Friday, September 2, at Askamore Community Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Donation: €10. Please wear warm comfortable clothes and bring slippers.

The Dances of Universal Peace are a gentle yet powerful way to connect with others and to the earth, to experience the true heart of many spiritual traditions and are a beautiful and unique form of meditative and celebratory body prayer. Through moving, chanting and singing together we create a sense of peace and harmony which radiates through our being to all we share our lives with and nourishes and enriches us body and soul. So badly needed in our world right now.

Yoga classes will take place in the community centre in Askamore on Thursday, June 9, and 16 from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., and also on Saturday the 11th and 18th (Chair Yoga) From 9.30 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. Also on the 11th and 18th, there will be a Yoga Flow Class from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. On Tuesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. there will be a Chair Yoga Class. Table quiz

A table quiz will take place in the Schooner Bar in Ballygarrett on Friday, June 10, at 9 p.m. The table quiz is to raise funds for the local Cahore Inshore Rescue Service. The cost is €5 per head. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing everyone there on the night.

Brendan Malone Memorial Golf outing

A lot of you would be aware Brendan formerly of Ballinagam and House To Home in Gorey, died in April 2019. His family are organising a golf outing in his memory and all proceeds will go to Gorey Hospice.

The outing will take place on Saturday June 25 in Ballymoney GC. Tee time from 12 noon. Format: Singles Stableford. For €35 you get a game of golf with a chance to win some lovely prizes, it will also be a great opportunity to share memories of Brendan and contribute to a worthy cause. Réalt na Mara GAA

The Killenagh Wanderers lotto can now be played online at clubforce.com/clubs/soccer-killenagh-wanderers-afc-wexford. All online entries must be made by 6 p.m. on the evening of the draw. Tinahely Craft Market

The craft market will now be open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The venue is the old Pop up shop opposite the butchers. A wide range of locally made crafts are available, so please come along and support your local community.
