Hickey’s Gorey in running for Pharmacy Team of the Year

The hardworking team at Hickey’s Pharmacy Gorey have been recognised for their commitment to the community by being named finalists in the Pharmacy Team of the Year category at the Irish Pharmacy Awards.
The prestigious event, which will take place on Saturday, May 27 in the Burlington Hotel Dublin, is aimed at celebrating excellence and innovation in the pharmacy industry. The Gorey team are one of three finalists hoping to pick up the award after being selected from a longlist of 200 entrants.
Manager of Hickey’s Gorey, Lisa Power said that they are delighted to be recognised in the competition.
"We are really delighted and it is great for the team. You couldn’t meet a nicer bunch of people,” she said. “For us to be showcased on the big stage is massive.”
It was the team's commitment to creating a positive atmosphere and lending a hand to their local community that won them a place in the final, said Lisa.
“They wrote that we are a feel-good place and that we want everyone to feel better when in our shop, which is the whole mantra. We want people to feel happier when they are in there,” she said. "They also said that we pride ourselves on customer service and always make sure everyone is looked after. They noted how we work to support the local community, by doing things like giving blood pressure tests at the Gorey Night Run, for example.”
Two members of the team will travel to Dublin on Saturday night to fly the flag for Wexford and hopefully, pick up the highly sought-after award.
