Not Around Us campaign to be expanded in County Wexford

WEXFORD County Council is hoping to implement a motion relating to children’s activities or those involving young people around the county.
In a report presented to members of Enniscorthy Municipal District, the members were told that the local authority supported a motion that any event organised, funded or supported by Wexford County Council, that engages children or young people would be designated a ‘Not Around Us’ supported event.
Such events would also have the ‘Not Around Us’ logo associated with it and signage relating to promoting the event would also have the logo associated.
The members were told the local authority is working on implementing the motion and working to extend the support of the campaign to businesses throughout the Model County. The ‘Not Around Us’ campaign is an initiative that advocates for the provision of a smoke and vape-free space for children and young people attending events. The members were also informed that the Mental Wellbeing Working Group has developed an action plan for the 2023 workplan to increase social connection opportunities.
