Memorial walk in County Wexford benefits two community first responder groups

TWO first responders groups were the beneficiaries of a fundraising walk that took place recently near Enniscorthy.
The Ferns First Responders and the Monageer First Responders received cheques for €3,300 each and both groups were delighted to accept the money, which will help both organisations carry out their potentially live-saving services to their communities.
The money was raised through the Stephen O’Leary memorial run which took place recently in Monageer.
The event usually raises money for the Ferns First Responders, however this time around the organisers – the Elite Runners – decided to split the proceeds between the two groups and were delighted to be able to give both sizable amounts of money.
One of those involved, Frances Murphy, said it was a great success but more importantly it will provide a much needed financial boost to two very important community support groups. The walk was organised in memory of the late Stephen O’Leary who was a founding member of his local first responders group and the organisers thought it fitting to support both organisations.
