BLACKWATER
Active Retirement
The Active Retirement Group has organised the following Day trips over the summer.
Visit to Coolaught Garden Centre, Clonroche on Wednesday 7th June. Tour of Gardens followed by tea and scones - €8 pp. Car pooling on the day leaving Church car park at 10.15am.
Dog racing at Kilcohan, Waterford on Saturday 22nd July.
Bowling continues in the Hall on Thursdays at 7.30pm. New and present members are invited to attend the General meeting on the 2nd Tuesday every month.
Commemoration of 1798 Rebellion
This is the 225th anniversary of the 1798 Rebellion. Two events taking place this week will mark the occasion.
On Friday 26th May a wreath laying ceremony will be held in The Harrow at 6.30 pm. Pikers will then march to Boolavogue cemetary to lay another wreath. They will then move on to the Fr. Murphy Centre for refreshments. The night will conclude with music and song in Kellys Bar, The Harrow.
On Saturday evening a new ‘98 memorial will be unveiled on Oulart Hill at 6 pm. Afterwards, refreshments will be served in Oulart Community Centre followed by a night of music and song.

BREE-GALBALLY
Tractor Run
Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Church Funds will be held on Sunday May 28th. Registration will be from 11.30am and run begins at 1pm. All vehicles must have road insurance and comply with standard farm machinery regulations. Donations of cakes and sandwiches are very welcome on the day.
Bree United Concert
Bree United are hosting a fundraising concert featuring Cliona Hagan and Band in the Riverside Park Hotel on Monday May 29th. Doors open 7.30pm. Tickets available from eventbrite €25 plus service fee. All support appreciated.
Bree Midsummer Fest
Bree Midsummer Fest takes place in Byrne Grain Store on Friday 9th June featuring The Tumbling Paddies, Stuart Moyles and Olivia Douglas. Tickets are now available at €25 at Hammel’s Centra, Bree or on eventbrite at €27.55. All proceeds in aid of Bree Community Centre and Bree Community Development Group projects.

Galbally Sports & Leisure Club
Galbally Sports and Leisure Club is now available for Special Events, Classes (Dance, Yoga, Keep Fit, Music, Sewing, Photography, Sports clinic etc), Training, and Sports/ Craft Fairs, Car Boot sales, Volleyball and Badminton (Hall is marked out for competition Level). Community Games News
Bree Davidstown Cloughbawn Athletics Finals take place in Enniscorthy Hub this Friday, 26th May. Registration is from 5.30pm with events starting at 6.30pm sharp. Children do not have to be members of an athletic club to take part but must be resident in the parishes of Bree, Davidstown or Cloughbawn. It is free admittance to the venue for all. Registration fee is €2 for all athletes, Preschool, U6s, U8 -16. Further details contact 0874151350.
Draughts sessions continue each Tuesday evening in Bree Community Centre from 7pm to 8pm. All are welcome to attend. New members U8-16 are also welcome.

CLONEGAL-KILDAVIN
Kildavin Heritage
Cranavane Holy Well Committee has secured funding from the Heritage Council to carry out a heritage audit of the Kildavin area. Colm Moriarity an archaeologist has been engaged to carry out the project.
If you have knowledge of places of significant interest around Kildavin please get in touch with Luke 0876430352, Margaret 0878380018 or email maggie1980@live.ie or any member of the Cranavane Holy Well Committee. This audit will form the basis for a Heritage programme for the area for the future.
Lotto Results
There was no winner or on-line winner of the Kildavin/Clonegal GAA and Ben Mulhall Park lotto draw of €10,000 held on Sunday, May 14. Numbers drawn were 12 23 24 27. Winner that matched three was Tom Murphy, Watch House, receiving €150. Next draw will take place in Osborne’s, Clonegal on Sunday, May 28 at 9.30pm.
Tickets are also available to purchase through “Club Force”. You can download this app and get instant results notification. First Holy Confirmation

Deepest Sympathy

Son of the late Margaret and Michael. Brother of the late Patsy, Alice, Nancy and Maureen. Sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposed from his nephew Michael Breslin’s residence. Removal to St. Brigid’s Church Clonegal for Funeral Mass and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May he Rest in Peace.

Hospice coffee morning
Our first post-Covid coffee morning in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will take place in Oylegate Community Centre on Saturday, May 27, from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please come along and have a cuppa with us and bring your family and friends too. All support for this worthy cause is very much appreciated.
Pilgrimage volunteers
The diocese are asking for volunteers from each parish to organise a coach to bring pilgrims to Our Lady’s shrine in Knock on Sunday, July 2, We are also asking for singers to join our pilgrimage choir in singing simple, well known hymns during the ceremonies.

Relay For Life Wexford
Friends and family of the late Dee Ronan are taking part in Relay for Life Wexford on the 8th and 9th July in Pairc Charman, Wexford in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
To fundraise for this event a coffee morning is being held in Jordan’s Lounge, Ballindaggin on Sunday morning of June bank holiday weekend (Sunday June 4th) at 11.30am. Come along for tea, coffee and a chat. Candle bags will also be available on the day for €5. All proceeds go to The Irish Cancer Society.

First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the sixteen children, pupils of Ballindaggin N.S. who received their first Holy Communion in a lovely ceremony in St. Colman’s Church on Saturday last watched by their parents, teachers and family members.
Celebrant Fr. Jim Fegan P.P. conducted the proceedings and commended the children, parents and teachers on their preparation for this important event in their young lives.
Kiltealy School
A big thank you to all who contributed to the recent clothes collection for Kiltealy school, almost a tonne of clothes was donated.
Winner of split the pot last week was Grace Doyle who won €140. Play split the pot every week, envelopes available in local shops and pubs. Many thanks for your support of our school.
Pop-Up Gaeltacht
Pop-up Gaeltacht takes place in The Thatch, Kiltealy on the last Friday of every Month from 8 pm to 9.30 pm. It is open to anyone with an interest in the Irish language regardless of your level or ability. Everyone is welcome to drop in for caint, comhra, ceol agus craic.

A pop up garda station takes place in Kiltealy Community Hall on the third Thursday of each month from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.
