Active Retirement AGM
The AGM of Ferns District Active Retirement will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 2.30 p.m at Kinbark Nurseries Carriglegan, Camolin. Transport can be arranged from Ferns Church car park if required. Please contact Colm (086 3866582) or Mary (087 2617847).
The agenda will include a planned day trip and lunch on Thursday, July 21. New members are very welcome to come along and enjoy the benefits the association offers.

Ferns Be Friendly
Ferns Be Friendly is a voluntary telephone befriending service in the Ferns area for people experiencing loneliness or isolation. Enquires to 087 1691919.
Kilmyshall Parish will hold a 5k/10k Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, July 10, starting at Kilmyshall Community Hall at midday. Registration at the Community Hall from 11.30 a.m.
Kilmyshall split-the-pot envelopes are available from HWH Shop, Steemers, Cahill’s hardware, D & M Laundrette, Glanbia, Redmond’s Bar, Byrnes Hardware Ryland Lower, Kilmyshall parish office and Kilmyshall School.
The pot is split between Kilmyshall School and the parish. Draw takes place every Friday. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Templeshanbo Parish is holding a coffee morning, raffle and bring and buy sale in The Parish Hall, Templeshanbo Friday next July 8th from 10 am to 12 noon to raise funds for the refugee community from Ukraine currently living in Enniscorthy. Your support would be appreciated.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Peter (Petesie) Nolan Monaseed, Gorey who died on Monday June 27th. Petesie as he was known to all was formerly a native of Ballycrystal, Kiltealy. He was laid to rest in Monaseed Cemetery following funeral Mass in Monaseed Church.
Deepest sympathy is also extended to the family, relations and friends of Colin Byrne, Mullaun, Bunclody who died on Thursday last week and was interred in Calvary Cemetery, Bunclody following funeral Mass in Kilmyshall Church.
Sympathy is also extended to John Murphy, Mohurry Mills on the recent death of his aunt.
May they all rest in peace.

Congratulations to gold medal winner Dannan Long who recently had great success at the Tailteann Games in Tullamore where he was representing F.C.J., Bunclody. He was an easy winner of the high jump with a best effort of 1.75 metres and he ran a fast 200m to get 3rd in a time of 22.58 seconds. He was selected to take the final leg of the 4 x 100m relay which he ran impressively to bring the Leinster team home in 42.70 seconds, just 0.06 of the current championship best. Well done Dannan.
Kiltealy patron and field day
Plans are well underway to make this year’s Patron and field day a huge community success when it returns to the traditional slot of the first Sunday in August which this year falls on August 7th. There will be a community meeting in Kiltealy Hall next Saturday night July 9th after 7 pm Mass to put plans in place for the event. All volunteers are asked to attend.
Split the pot
The winner of Kiltealy N.S. split the pot last week was Jim Roche who won €120. There will be two split the pot draws over the summer, the first will be on July 25th and the second on August 31st. Envelopes will be available in local shops and pubs. Thank you for your continued support of Kiltealy National School.
Woodbrook Burial Ground
There will be an information day at Woodbrook Natural Burial Ground on Saturday August 13th from 10 am to 3 pm. It will be an informal day where people are welcome to come along, visit the burial ground, meet the team and ask any questions you may have about “Green Graveyard”. All are welcome.

Ballindaggin Development Group are holding a car treasure hunt around the area on Monday evening August 1st (bank holiday). The first treasure hunt for many years in the area. Full details to follow.
Castledockrell National School
Congratulations and best wishes to our 6th class graduates as they make the move to secondary school. Wishing everyone in the school community a safe and enjoyable summer break.

Know Your Neighbours
A great community event takes place in Ballycarney on Saturday, 23rd July. Come along and meet those living in our area. Tea, coffee and home baking and hot chocolate for the children on the day. Hosted by Ballycarney Development Group for the people of Ballycarney and surrounding areas. Coffee morning in The Old Post Office, Ballycarney Y21H1K2 on Saturday, 23rd July 10-11.30a.m. All proceeds on the day to the group will be put back into our area to develop and maintain amenities.
Pop up Garda Station
Notice from An Garda Síochána–Enniscorthy Gardaí will hold a pop-up Garda Station in Marshalstown Community Centre on Monday 11th July from 2.15–3.30p.m.
Patron was held in Castledockrell on Friday evening. The rain held off for the Rosary and Prayers. Due to covid restrictions the graves could not be blessed during it and had to be done privately. Those laid to rest in the cemeteries in our Parish and parishioners laid to rest elsewhere were remembered. May they all Rest in Peace.
Many thanks to those who contributed to the Church Gate collection in aid of Wexford Mental Health Association held recently in Castledockrell. Much appreciated.
Vigil Mass on Saturdays (and Holydays) is in Marshalstown Church at 7.30p.m. Sundays (and Holydays) Mass is in Castledockrell Church at 10a.m. Times of weekday Masses are on the church newsletter each weekend and are announced each day at the end of Mass. All Church services and Masses in Marshalstown Church are on the webcam. Please book anniversary Masses well in advance if possible. They may be booked in the normal way.
Notes deadline is now Sunday 6p.m. (time I need the notes by) and 6p.m. Thursday for Bank Holiday weekends as The Enniscorthy Guardian is now in the shops on Wednesdays. Items received after that time will be included in the following week’s notes if date of event has not passed.
