Enniscorthy company wins national awards for its sausages

AN Enniscorthy business has won two major national awards for its products, cementing is reputation as one of County Wexford's premiere businesses.

M & M Meats, located at 12 Rafter Street, Enniscorthy, won two gold medals at this year’s All-Ireland ACBI awards. They received the prizes for their low-fat traditional sausages, and pork and leek sausages. The prestigious ceremony was held in the Portlaoise Midlands Hotel.

The business, which is a family butchers run by Michael and Thomas Crofts, is synonymous with Enniscorthy but their products are renowned around the county.

Speaking about the win, Mick Crofts said everyone was delighted especially given it was the first time the business entered the competition

“This was our first year competing in these awards and we were delighted to have won the two gold medals for the first try,” said Mick.

Traditional butchers, M&M Meats has been in operation since April, 2017, however, between them Mick and Thomas have over 40 years experience of butchering between them.

“We are a traditional butchers,” said Mick.

“We specialise in low fat, fat free protein products for the healthier lifestyle,” he added, while highlighting that they source all their products as local as possible.

“We also offer gluten free options and some vegetarian options,” said Mick.

“We recently extended our range of products to suit even more of our customer needs, by introducing some quick food options,” he added.
