SUPERMARKET chain Aldi is planning to create up to 32 jobs in its County Wexford stores this year, as part of a nationwide move that will see the retailer recruit 600 new store employees throughout 2022.

According to Aldi, it will also increase its hourly pay rates for store employees from February 1, 2022. The company said store assistants will earn up €14.90 an hour, while its entry rate of pay will be €12.90 an hour.

In the model county, Aldi has seven stores, which are located in Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Goreybridge and New Ross, plus Newtown Rd, Trinity St and Wexford Retail Park in Wexford Town.

“We are delighted to create 32 new roles to join the store teams in County Wexford,” said Niall O’Connor, Aldi Group managing director.
