Central defender, Jeff Henderson, is facing a race against time to be fit for Sligo Rovers crucial fixtures over the Easter week-end.

He aggravated a groin strain against Cork last week and will have a late fitness test before the weekend.

Struggling Rovers will be hoping for some degree of redemption in a crucial holiday weekend schedule.

With just one win from their opening seven League games, Rovers face UCD at the Showgrounds on Good Friday (7.45pm) before taking on Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Easter Monday (3pm)

The 2012 League Champions and last year's FAI Cup winners have under-achieved spectacularly in the League this season.

They were considered to be one of the main contenders for the title but instead find themselves rooted second from bottom of the table.

They beat fellow-strugglers, Athlone Town, in their opening game but have failed to register a single victory since then.

Their recent form offers some encouragement, however.

The challenge now for the Bit O'Red will be to put that disappointment out of their minds and try to collect maximum points from the Easter schedule.

John Russell, who missed the Cork game with a hamstring problem, is expected to be included in the squad for this weekend's fixtures.

Seamus Conneely remains a doubt, however, and long term injury victims, Raffaele Cretaro, and Gavin Peers are definitely ruled out.
