Cadden victorious

Sligo athletes were in fantastic form at the All Ireland Schools finals in Tullamore at the weekend. Lauren Cadden won the All Ireland schools 200m title and runs another European Junior standard too. She ran sub 12 seconds for the first time for silver in the 100 & a win in the 4x300m relay too.

Michael Morgan cruised to victory in the 3,000m. Nelvin Kojo Appiah had a massive pb in high jump for the win in 2.10 and rolled off the mats and ran 10.89 in the 100m.

Ben Clavin ran classy for bronze in the Minor boys 800m, while Caoimhe McDonagh jumped a PB with every jump ending in bronze in the junior girls long jump I 5m19cm.

Eala McDermott also had a gutsy for silver in the Intermediate girls 1500m steeplechase. These were the highlights of a brilliant day said a very proud coach, Dermot McDermott of Believe and Achieve.
