Ballyshannon 5k road race

The 6th Annual Streets of Ballyshannon 5k Road Race takes place on Saturday January 26th at 11.30am.

The race starts at Lakeside Centre and this year finishes at East Port. The event is AAI Approved, with chip timing.

This new course designed by Martin O'Halloran Tir Chonaill AC is a relatively level course and should produce fast  times and PBs. The "old" hill at the finish is now gone.

There is a prize fund of €500+ on offer in the Men & Ladies age groups  plus excellent Spot Prizes for Joggers, Fun Runners,Couch to 5ks and walkers.

This is one of the first 5ks in the early part of the New Year and is an ideal event for people to check on their fitness levels in a competitive environment at end of first month 2019. Registration takes place at Lakeside from 10am until 11.15. No entries will be permitted after 11.15.

The men's title holder is Liam Feely North Leitrim and the Ladies title is held by Kinlough native Teresa McGloin now running for Finn Valley AV. The event is organised by the Ballyshannon Rugby Club to help raise funds for continued development of underage rugby.
