Sligo Rovers’ opponents in the first round of the Europa Conference League qualifying have given the Bit O’Red 300 tickets initially for the away leg which will take place at TNS’ ground in July.
This is a generous gesture from the Welsh side, as they are only obliged to give 5% capacity to away fans as per UEFA rules.
Sligo Rovers said: “We note this is above 5% of capacity so therefore we appreciate Bala’s allocation to us.
“We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and see can the club secure a further allocation if tickets are available at a later date.”
There is huge interest in the tie among Sligo Rovers fans, with fans unable to travel to Iceland for last year’s European game against FH due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Fans have already made travel arrangements, with people flying from Knock to Liverpool and basing themselves in Wrexham or Liverpool, with some getting the ferry over.
Bala Town play in the Welsh Premier League, but the tie will take place in England, as their own ground is not up to UEFA’s standards.
Tickets for the away leg on July 7th will go on sale this evening (Thursday) on the Bala Town website.
