North Sligo athletes show form

North Sligo AC's young athletes performed well at the Connaught finals which were held recently.

The club was very well represented at the Connaught U14-19 and Senior/Masters which was held at IT Sligo.

In the U14 Girls Anna Currid made a big breakthrough at this level to win a Bronze medal in the 200m in a time of 29.09.

Laoise McBrien had a great run in the U18 Girls 100m to finish 3rd in a time of 12.95 and 4th in the 200m with a time of 27.27.

Her brother Colm had a fine run to take the Silver medal in the Senior Men's 200m in 23.45. Luke Casserly took double Gold in the U17 Boys 200m 23.58 and 400m 54.69 followed by a Silver medal for Niamh Henry in the Senior Women's 400m 1.07.52. In the middle distance Michael Kerins took the Gold medal in the U19 800m in a time of 2.0342.

There was also great performances by Jasmine Dunleavy, Molly McLoughlin and Saoirse Lawley in the U14 Girls and Nicola Dunleavy in the U16 Girls.
