Taylor aims to line out on Fianna Fail ticket
From the penalty box to the ballot box.
That's the aim of one of Sligo's top GAA stars.
Six time county champion Paul Taylor, 37, wants to run for Fianna Fail at the next local elections.
He said: "I'm seeking to go into politics because I want to play an active role in helping my local community"
The Eastern Harps forward, who enjoyed a distinguished 14-year career with the county senior team, will contest the party's selection convention later this year.
Sharpshooter Taylor was nominated for an All Star award in 1997.
He was also in the Sligo squad which won the Connacht Championship 10 years later.
