Seasiders dominant over St Michael's
St Michael's 0-9 Enniscrone/Kilglass 4-15
Enniscrone/Kilglass secured their second successive win in Division Two of the Furey's Coaches Sligo Senior Football League following a comprehensive defeat of St Michael's at the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence last Saturday.
This game - initially scheduled for Ballintogher before being switched due to an unplayable pitch - was played in blustery conditions but Enniscrone/Kilglass were dominant throughout.
Playing into the elements in the opening half, the winners established a 3-6 to 0-7 lead and were in total control after the break with the wind at their backs.
In parts, the seasiders showed well but ultimately the result wasn't in doubt from an early stage.
A lively start saw Enniscrone/Kilglass lead 0-4 to 0-2 after ten minutes, but thereafter the margin increased.
Goals from Shane Hargadon (2) and Kevin Cawley put daylight between the sides, while Brian Coleman's also chipped in with two points.
St Michael's were struggling but scored some decent points through Brian Taaffe and Kyle Carty.
Eight points ahead at half-time, Enniscrone/Kilglass controlled proceedings after the interval.
Hargadon, Coleman and Mark Gordon helped extend the seasiders lead, while in defence they conceded only two second half points with Ryan Walsh on target for St Michael's.
The game finished with a Mark Gordon goal in the final minute, to further extend the winning margin.
Both teams are back in action next week.
Enniscrone/Kilglass host Calry/St Joseph's, while St Michael's take on St John's in Stenson Park.
Throw-in for those games is at 6.30pm on Saturday evening.
