Sligo’s e-bike scheme has proven to be such a success in its first month that the trial period has been extended to a year.

The first monthly report on the usage of Bolt e-bikes in Sligo for July showed there were 65 e-bikes in circulation presently with a further 35 to come into circulation shortly

Almost 16,000km was travelled by the users of the Bolt e-bikes throughout Sligo during the month. The average e-bike ride was approximately 2.35km with the average e-bike rental being 14 minutes.

The cost of hiring an -ebike is 15 cent per minute.

Sligo County Council says the e-bike trial was scheduled to operate for a 6 month period.but a decision has been made  to extend this to 12 months in so that a complete 12 month dataset and an assessment of usage patterns/demand across all seasons can be gathered.
