SLIGO singer Lisa Stanley is taking a new SKY TV music show by storm.

' The Phil MacCountry Show' first hit the screens last December and since then has become the hotest and most talked about new country music show.

Lisa, the daughter of entertainment legends Maisie McDaniel and Fintan Stanley, co-hosts the series with London based singer and businessman, Phil Mack, and Glen Rogers.

Lisa recently interviewed Daniel O'Donnell for the show. The interview has been broadcast on Sky channel 201 (Showcase) or Free sat 403 on a number of occasions. "I met Daniel when I was a child but I never imagined that one day I would interview him for t.v. I was always a singer up to this but it was such an honour to have the opportunity to interview Dnaiel. I always remembered how unassuming and down to earth he was, and so it proved," said Lisa.

After Phil Mack contacted Lisa about her own music, she ultimately became one of the show's presenters after he decided to establish the new series. She travels to London every two weeks for recordings and also conducts interviews in Ireland. "It was a bit of a change from singing to interviewing, but I always felt I could do it. In my own show I talk a bit on stage and have also acted as a compere a few times. When Phil asked me to join the show I was delighted and it certainly seems to be working well, the audience is growing all the time," Lisa explained.

"I interviewed Daniel O'Donnell when he played in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. He hadn't changed a bit from what I remembered of him. We spoke on camera for about twenty minutes and when the interview was over Daniel spent ages singing autographs and chatting with fans who had gathered outside," she added. As well as touring with her own show 'Music and Memories of Maisie McDaniel' , she is promoting her new singled 'Walkin' in My Mother's Footsteps', and appears regularly in local venues with Joss and Ian Duggan. The trio are performing this Saturday night at The Harp Tavern.
