Sent forward for trial

A 51-year-old man charged with falsely imprisoning another man has been sent forward for trial to this week's sitting of Sligo Circuit Court. The accused Stefan Schaufler, with an address at River Road, Cartron Point, Sligo had the Book of Evidence served on him at last Thursday's sitting of Sligo District Court.

He was sent forward for trial in custody. The accused is charged with a number of offences including falsely imprisoning Michael Lally on June 20th 2018 at the same address in River Road, Cartron Point and taking his car, stealing a wallet with €200 cash belonging to Mr Lally along with a bank card and car keys and damaging his iPhone.

Schaufler, who had a German interpreter in court, was further charged with stealing €200 in cash from the Bank of Ireland, Stephen St, Sligo belonging to Mr Lally on the same date and a further charge of stealing €200 in cash belonging to Mr Lally from the Bank of Ireland in Rosslare Harbour on June 21st 2018.

The defendant was sent forward for trial in custody to appear at this week's sitting of Sligo Circuit Court.
