People wait in cars as centre 'too cold'
Patients waiting for treatment at the Drumcliffe medical health centre are opting to wait in their cars outside because the building is so cold inside.
That's according to Fine Gael Cllr Sinead Maguire who secured backing for her motion during February's meeting of Sligo County Council urging the council to lobby the HSE about the centre.
"People are waiting in their cars before appointments," said Cllr Maguire who also pointed out that the centre is not even wheelchair friendly.
"This should be put as a priority," she added.
Her motion was seconded by Cllr Seamus Kilgannon who said the population was growing in the area and should be prioritised: "The HSE must speed up funding," he said.
The Council will now lobby the HSE to fulfil its promise to upgrade the Drumcliffe medical health centre.
