High Street goes back in time!
Makeover on former businesses
Sligo Tidy Towns has completed a makeover on one of the city's most run down streets.
The hardworking group has taken advantage of the sunny weather over the past couple of weeks to bring life to many of the street's derelict buildings with a fresh coat of pain and new facades representing the businesses that once traded from.
The most iconic building on the street, the old Savoy cinema got lots of attention and has rekindled memories of yesteryear when it was a thriving entertainment venue in the city.
The makeover by the Built Environment section of Sligo Tidy Towns has been well received with many positive comments directed to the group for its efforts at transforming the street.
Sligo Tidy Towns has thanked Superior Signs Collooney for their professional workmanship on the signs.
The group has also thanked Micheal O’Hehir, O’Hehirs Bakery, for his support of this project from the start and for his contribution towards the works.
A thank you was also sent to Sligo BID & Sligo County Council for their ongoing support of the work of Sligo Tidy Towns.
