Gardaí seize €160,000 of drugs
Approximately €160,00 worth of drugs were seized by gardaí in Sligo over the weekend.
Members of Sligo Crime Unit and the Divisional Drugs Unit carried out searches over the weekend seizing what is believed to be cannabis, cocaine and other substances.
On Friday night, the Sligo Divisional Drugs Unit stopped a vehicle in the Ballytivnan area where they found in the region of €20,000 worth of cannabis.
A man in his 20s was arrested and taken to Ballymote Garda Station.
Following this, a search took place at a premises where €60,000 worth of cocaine and other illegal substances were discovered.
A man was charged and taken before a special sitting of Sligo District Court on Saturday evening in relation to the matter. He he was remanded on bail.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night a search was carried out in the Cranmore area of Sligo town.
It is estimated that €80,000 worth of what is believed to be cannabis was seized.
A man in his 30s was arrested by gardaí for the sale and supply of illegal drugs and is currently being detained at Ballymote Garda Station under the Drug Trafficking Act.
