Gallagher running in south Sligo area
Sinn Fein has selected its candidate to contest the local elections for the Ballymote/Tubbercurry LEA. Members from throughout the constituency gathered in The Coach House Hotel to select their candidate.
It was a contested convention between Daniel Gallagher and Jason Gorman from which Daniel Gallagher emerged the winner.
Daniel will now go forward to represent Sinn Fein in the area.
Daniel said he was delighted to have been selected by the members throughout South Sligo to represent them in the local elections.
Some of the issues he said he feels strongly about is the future of rural Ireland.
He feels it is vital to improve access to the region both by road and rail which will then help the growth of the local economy.
Daniel also intends on working closely with the public and corporate bodies over the issue of the Lough Talt water supply.
He said it is an issue that has been going on for too long and needs to be addressed.
