Fairways Estate to be taken in charge
Tubbercurry-Ballymote council meeting
A Tubbercurry housing estate is due to be taken in charge by the County Council in the near future.
The Council has made formal claims on the planning bonds which were provided by Ulster Bank for the Fairways Estate.
However the bank sold the loans to a third party. A receiver has been appointed to certain assets of the company and are in talks with the Council on finishing the estate.
Members were also told that the new owner of the Fairways loans is willing to hire a contractor to get the works done on the estate. However issues relating to way leaves have to be finalised before any contractor can be appointed.
Cllr Margaret Gormley had sought a report from the Council on the current position regarding the estate. "I'd be hoping that we'd have a successful conclusion to this and that we'd see progress," she told Council officials.
