A man has been fined €75 after he admitted a charge of being drunk and a danger to himself and others.

Philip McLoughlin (47) Joe McDonnell Dr, Cranmore was summoned for the offence that happened at Teeling Street on March 3 this year.

Sergeant Derek Butler told the court the defendant was found asleep inside a Pizza takeaway for an hour.

When he awoke, he was unsteady on his feet, and he was arrested for his own safety.

The defendant had 19 previous convictions.

Defence Solicitor John Anderson said his client was arrested for his own safety and was working with Aubrey Melville of charity, Social Ground Force to deal with his addiction issues.
