Councillors meet Ross
Sligo County Council's May monthly meeting was cut short yesterday (Monday) to allow a delegation to travel to Dublin to meet Transport Minister Shane Ross.
The councillors were planning to lobby Minister Ross for funding for Class 3 roads in rural Sligo.
The delegation included Cathaoirleach Councillor Seamus Kilgannon, Michael Clarke, Hubert Keaney, Marie Casserly, Martin Baker, Paul Taylor, Margaret Gormley and Director of Services Tom Kilfeather.
The members have been highly critical of Minister Ross since he came to office for the lack of funding granted towards rural roads in Sligo over the past few years.
