Council workers carry out road surfacing works
The Council workers were out in force in Ballymote over the last number of days.
They were busy resurfacing and doing drainage works on the Sligo road out of Ballymote from Henry's Garage to just past the turn for Castle Burn.
The work began on Wednesday and continued on Thursday, Friday and also yesterday.
They took place from 7pm and continued into the early hours of the morning on each day.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Keith Henry commended the council workers.
He said that he's been working with the Area Engineer on the matter over the past few months and before the work began told residents in Stoneparks and Castle Burn to bear this in mind as there will be slight delays as a result.
He added: "Also on Pearse Road at the entrance to Marren Park, the drainage and pipe laying will continue this week with the expectation it will be completed before the schools are back."
The works will be complete right on time for the upcoming Christmas season.
