The playground of St. Cecilia's School was given a facelift in recent weeks, and it was free of charge.

Donlon Civil & Building Services gifted the project to the school and decided they would do it for free as a gesture of goodwill.

The company previously helped to fundraise for a swing for the school, and ensured that they kept up their communication with the school ever since.

Leo Donlon explained to The Sligo Champion: "We have a background with St. Cecilia's school and we would have done fundraising before for them.

"They wanted to do a refurbishment of their playground and they asked us to do the work.

"We said we would do it and that we would do it free of charge. In fairness they didn't ask us to do it for free but we said we would as a goodwill gesture.

"We always try to do something like this. There's enough bad news out there.

"They're really good to work with and they were very appreciative of the gesture," he added.
