Community spirit alive and well in Beltra
The community spirit is alive and well in Beltra with hundreds enjoying the annual Beltra Show last Saturday, one of the longest running shows in the country, writes Sorcha Crowley.
The rain held off giving everyone a chance to enjoy the prize poultry, sheep and dogs displayed in the show ring.
Locals filled the Beltra Hall with the very best of home baking and colourful floral displays in the county.
Outside, several marquis held a wide range of works of art entered by the public, intricate Lego creations carefully put together by little hands, more baking and craft works.
The 75-strong committee missed nothing, with bouncy castles and ice-cream vans present to keep the little ones entertained.
A dance floor was even installed with live music and jive dancing to entertain the foot-tapping crowds. Patricia Kearns won Best Dressed Lady while young Callum Scott (11) won the Best Dressed Gent with his tweed jacket ensemble.
