Biodiversity and water project funding
As part of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, Sligo LEADER in partnership with Sligo LCDC are promoting a closed call for Biodiversity and Water related Projects.
LEADER are committed to supporting projects that involve the protection and sustainable use of water resources and the protection and improvement of local biodiversity.
The benefits of such activities can go beyond water quality and can provide an opportunity for communities to engage in a meaningful way in protection of their local environment. A sample of projects that can be supported are the following: Development of sustainable Visitor Initiatives, Eco Friendly Blueways and Greenways, River/lake/coastal walkways with an ecological focus, Amenity area/picnic area with an ecological focus, Bird Watching facilities promoting good water and biodiversity management, Feasibility Studies to manage wildlife habitats, Development plans to protect local Water areas of environmental significance, Resource Audits of Wildlife, Restoration and conservation projects (dependent on lease/ownership of land), River Restoration Works, Wild Flower Meadows/Community Ponds, Rare Species Conservation projects, Riparian Management Works,Creating Homes for wildlife and Training.
Sligo LEADER Partnership, in conjunction with partners Sligo LCDC and Sligo Co Council are now launching a closed call for funding. This call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) opens on Tuesday, July 9th 2019 and closes on Friday, August 30th. Those successful at this Expression of Interest (EOI) stage, will then be invited to submit a full application. Submission of Full Applications from those successful at EOI stage must be made by October 29th.
