A county councillor has once again highlighted the issue of illegal dumping at Coney Lane off the Ballisodare to Coolaney Road.

"I have ongoing concerns regarding this dumping in such a scenic area. We need to come up with system to avoid and stop this dumping to continue in any area.," he said.

Baths and rubble are amongst the latest material dumped there.

"In this case the dumpers had to open forestry gates and drive about a mile and a half in order to dump the material. It's just not acceptable. The council is trying its best and maybe it's time to see if a reward is offered for information that this might put an end to this," he said.

Cllr Healy previously raised the issue of illegal dumping at Coney Lane in 2016 where, on that occasion, a large amount of builders rubble and two couches, added to later by sheep were dumped there.
