The Collins family from Banada recently presented a cheque for €35,000 to Beaumont Hospital.
Michael and Mary Collins, along with their sons Anthony, Paul, David and Shane combined their efforts for the Beaumont Hospital Foundation in appreciation for the care and treatment their daughter and sister Joanne has received there.
Joanne was diagnosed with a brain tumour in early September 2018.
Her brothers are dotted on four continents across the globe and undertook various endurance challenges to raise funds for the Day Oncology Unit at the hospital.
Paul, who is based in sunny Dubai, ran a half marathon last October while his brother Shane completed the Palm Springs Aerial Tram Road Challenge in California.
Shane started at 400' elevation and climbed to 2,600' over 6km. The steep uphill route was not for the faint hearted and thankfully Shane completed it.
Back in Ireland, David joined thousands of other runners over the Bank Holiday weekend in October to complete the Dublin City Marathon, where he was supported on the day by Joanne and his family.
Anthony, who is based in Sydney, Australia completed his 100km Cycle Challenge late last year after recovering from a bout of pneumonia.
In Banada, Mary and Michael hosted a Coffee Morning which raised over €15,000 alone.
