Taunagh N.S. and Ardkeeran N.S. are two neighbouring schools in Riverstown who work closely together and are now in their second year of a Shared Education project, funded by Peace IV.

This year, all the pupils from both schools embarked on a science project withboth schools awarded a Plaque of STEM each from SFI Discover Science and Maths.

The children engaged in a range of hands-on science experiments such as making slime, light-up cards, lighthouses and draw bots.

The schools also had a mobile planetarium come to visit so the children could see the planets and gaze at the stars. The children even hatched butterflies in their classrooms.

To conclude their project, the children went on joint school tours, the juniors visited Lough Key Forest Park, while the seniors went to the Aillwee Cave and Birds of Prey exhibition.
