Dromahair: North Leitrim Women's Centre Day Out - Treat yourself to a day out in Athlone, the centre of Ireland, the Gateway to the West on Saturday, June 22, Starting with a historical guided tour of Athlone, three course lunch and time to explore all that Athlone has to offer. Cemetery Sunday

Cemetery Sunday in Killenummery and Killery: Open air Mass, Rosary and blessing of graves will take place on June 15 at 7.30 p.m. in Carrowcrin Cemetery. Sunday, June 16, at 11.30 a.m. in Killery Cemetery at 3 p.m. in Creevelea Abbey.

Visitation and blessing of graves in Killargue and Cloonlougher; Sunday, June 30, Mass at 2.30 p.m. Newtownmanor on Sunday, August 4, at 5.30 p.m.

Drumkeerin Bingo

Bingo is now running every Saturday night at 9 p.m. in Drumkeerin Community Centre. Come along and enjoy a great social outing on a Saturday night.

The Depot

Garda Community Information Clinic in the Depot Dromahair every Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. General Garda Services and Information is provided. This is a pilot scheme and its success depend on the support of the public. Use it or lose it.

MacDiarmada Summer School

The tenth annual Seán MacDiarmada summer School, which gets under way in Kiltyclogher on Friday evening, June 7, will have as its chief topic' Ireland Going Forward Where to From Here?'

St Clare's Comprehensive School English teacher and Kinlough woman, Regina Fahy is the MacDiarmada summer School's Conference Director. Regina, along with the local summer School Committee, has lined up an excellent panel of speakers for Kilty's two-day enlightening annual debate.

The MacDiarmada summer lectures will be given Friday night by Pascal Mooney and on Saturday by Dr Mary McAuliffe, Ava Murray, Dr Pádraig McGarty, Mary O'Rourke and John O'Mahony.

Lock Up Celebrations

Manorhamilton Company, Lock Up Alarms was first established in 1989. This year the Castle Street based company celebrates 30 years in business in the town.

To mark its thirtieth year in business Lock Up Alarms will stage a celebratory event at their Castle Street premises on this Friday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lock Up Alarms are inviting the community and local businesses to come and join them for their Castle Street premises celebrations on the day.

Ocean FM will also do a live outside broadcast at the Lock Up Alarms premises in Castle Street for the company's thirtieth anniversary celebrations on Friday.

Longest Day Festivities

The North Leitrim Men's Group will host a 'Longest Day Celebrations' event on Friday, June 21, the day of the summer Solstice in Manorhamilton.

The event will take place at the Castle; it will be free to all and it will include sean nós Dancers, traditional dancers, traditional musicians, folk singers, a harpist; all in the grounds of the castle and more.

North Leitrim Men's Group hopes to see everyone coming out on Friday, June 21, for Manorhamilton's first ever 'Longest Day Celebrations' event.

Registration for the summer School lectures starts at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, in Kiltyclogher Community Centre. Morning and afternoon lectures cost €25; while the full conference (Friday and Saturday) costs €45. Lunch at €5 is available on Saturday.

Blessing of the Graves

The annual blessing of the graves ceremony takes place in St Clare's Cemetery Manorhamilton on Sunday, July 28, after the 11.30 a.m. Mass in St Clare's Church (at approximately 12.30 p.m.). The blessing of the graves ceremony in the Cloonclare Cemetery takes place at 1.30 p.m. approximately.

Multi Activity Summer Camps

Merville Community Centre will be running Weekly summer camps and places are available for the weeks commencing Monday, July 1, and Monday, July 8. The Camps Run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and feature a wide range of Fun Activities. This Year the Dreamchasers summer Camp is open to children between the ages of five to 12 years old. Summer camp fees - €60 per child, per week. Fee must be paid on registration. Bingo continues on Mondays in the function room of the Blue Devon, Dromahair, at 9 p.m. For those of you who are not regulars, it is a great social occasion, as well a fun opportunity to experience the thrill and frustration of getting/not getting the numbers you need. All lines €30, except games 5 and 10, which are €50; all full houses €100 and last game €200. So why not come along and support your local bingo. Who knows you might be lucky.

Newtownmanor Hall is available for booking, by adult groups, wishing to organise an event or training. Hall costs are €15 per hour.

Gold for Riverstown

Well done to all the Riverstown competitors who represented Sligo at the national finals of the Community Games on Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, in Limerick. Congratulations to the under-13 Indoor Soccer team consisting of Jack Tuohy, Niall Kenny, Troy Kelly, Matthew Potter, Ruairí Kelly, Jack Brehony, Darragh McKeon and Seán Kelly and their coaches Kieran McKeon and Declan Brehony, who took Gold for Sligo.

Well done also to the Irish Contemporary Dance Troupe consisting of Amy Bagnall, Maebh Harte, Sophie Williams, Grainne McDermott and their coach Eimeár Mulvey, who took home Bronze for Sligo. Well done to Lorcan Eivers, who competed in under-11 boys Gymnastics and Lilia Williams, who competed in the under-10 Model-making competition. They both did well to represent Sligo at Nationals.

Duck Race

Little Buddies Duck Race will take place on Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. on the River Unshin. Ducks will be available from Little Buddies and local shops. Still only €5 per duck. So don't miss out. This is Little Buddies main fundraiser for the year so any support would be greatly appreciated. Excellent prizes, games and entertainment on the day. Everyone welcome to come along and cheer on their duck.

Afternoon Tea

Gleann ICA are hosting an Afternoon Tea Party at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, in Castledargan Hotel, Ballygawley. This event is in aid of the Mater Family Hostel Fund, who support families of patients like Aengus Lyons. The Lyons Family used this hostel during Aengus's long stay in the Mater Hospital.
