The death took place on January 20 of Patsy Regan Derrkinlough. Patsy was a traditional musician and was well known in the Gurteen area - playing at sessions in O'Dowds, in Róisín Dubh and in Donegan's for many years.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be in Gurteen on Saturday, May 9, and the enrolment was on last weekend.

'Hands for Life' is a community (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) CPR Training Irish Heart Foundation programme, which offers CPR training free of charge across Ireland to people, who are over 18 years of age.
The Bee Park Community Centre plans to run a community CPR Training Irish Heart Foundation programme course shortly. 'In order to get this free programme we would need at least 90 people interested in joining' the Bee Park Community Centre explains.
The CPR Training Irish Heart Foundation programme course entails a three by one hour class of 30 people.

Johnny Cash tribute
Glenfarne's Ballroom of Romance will pay a special tribute to legendary country singer Johnny Cash on Saturday night, June 6.
A Glenfarne native, John McGivern built the Ballroom of Romance in 1934. Two years earlier Johnny Cash, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, was born into a family of poor cotton farmers in Arkansas on February 26, 1932.
The Ballroom of Romance's tribute to Johnny Cash will highlight 'Cash Returns,' one of the best Irish touring and award winning live shows.

The Templeboy Co. Sligo based Windmill Players will present the hilarious murder mystery 'Wanted One Body in Ballintogh' in Ballintogher Hall on Friday night, February 7, and Sunday night, February 9, at 8 p.m. each night.

The Gleann reunion committee have been overwhelmed by the response of people who sent in articles, photos, short stories etc for the book.
