Community Council

We are holding our annual Christmas Sale on Sunday, December 15, Representatives of the Community Council will be calling to all parish houses in the coming weeks. Your support and generosity as always is very much appreciated. We are hoping to have a jumbo Christmas cake sale. Annual pantomime

Castleconnor Amateur Dramatic Society present the Three Little Pigson December 6 and 7 at 7.30 p.m. in Castleconnor Community Centre. Written and directed by Alanna Barrett. There will be lots of new performers on stage for the first time with Castleconnor Drama Group so come along, it's sure to be a great nights entertainment.

Community Council AGM

The AGM of the Dromore West Community Council CLG will take place on Tuesday, December 3, at 8.30 p.m. in Dromore West Community Centre. This meeting is open to all members of our community, and anyone wishing to become a member of the Community Council is welcome to attend this meeting.

Death

The death has taken place of Noel Beglane, Dromore West. His funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour followed by burial in Churchill Cemetry. Sympathy is extended to his wife Nora, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brothers, sister, inlaws, relatives and friends.

Windmill Players

Tickets for Windmill Players' latest production of 'WANTED - One Body.' a hilarious murder mystery are on sale now in Collery's, Beltra and Costcutters, Dromore West, or can be booked by ringing 087 7908173. Get them early to avoid disappointment. The drama will be held in Dromore West Community centre on November 29 and 30 and Sunday, December 1, Easkey GAA Club will hold their annual general meeting on Saturday, December 7, at 8 p.m. in the community centre. Club members, players and parents of underage players are invited to attend.

Christmas Cracker Bingo

Christmas Cracker Bingo will be taking place in Dromore West Community Centre on Sunday, December 15 at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are now on sale for the annual Dromore West Community Centre Christmas raffle. Tickets are on sale locally and through any member of the Community Council. All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the community centre. Your support is greatly appreciated. The Christmas Raffle draw will follow immediately after bingo.

Lighting up Dromore West

The lighting of the Dromore West Village Christmas lights will take place on Saturday, December 7, at 6 p.m. outside the Still bar.

Young at Heart Club

West Sligo Young at Heart Club are holding their annual tea dance in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Thursday, December 5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments/raffle and music with Gary O'Reilly from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Come along for an afternoon of fun and lots of dancing. Fitness Class

Christmas Market/Christmas Tree Festival

Easkey's first Christmas Market and Christmas Tree Festival will take place on December 7/8. The Christmas Tree Festival is on Saturday, December 7, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Christmas Market December 8 from midday to 5 p.m. With over 30 indoor and outdoor stalls, there is something for everyone.

St Farnan's GAA

The St Farnan's GAA Club AGM will take place on Friday, December 6, at 8 p.m. in Dromore West Community Centre.

Competitors are needed to represent the club in the county final of Scór na nÓg on December 1 in Ballintogher Hall. If interested please contact Cultural Officer Seán Kilgannon.

Tickets costing €35 will soon be on sale for the clubs annual dinner dance in the Radisson Hotel, Sligo on Saturday, January 18, at 7.30.

Card game

A Sunday evening card game for the upgrade works in the cemetery takes place in the school beside the church in Easkey at 8.30. Results from last Sunday are first Frank and Martin Kilgannon. Senior Christmas party

Kilglass/Culleens Community Alert committee will hold a Senior Christmas party on December 8 at 1.30 in the Ocean sands Hotel. Enjoy a three course meal with music and dancing. Tickets cost €15 and can be had from any member, contact Gerry Queenan at 087 1358056 or Sheridan's Bar.

Sympathy

Our Sincere sympathies are offered to the family and relatives of Noel Beglane Dromore West, Noel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his heart broken family. Noel is survived by his wife Nora, his five children Charlotte, Vanessa, Noel David, Dermot, Brendan and their partners, husband and wives, his 11 cherished grandchildren, brothers, one sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family and friends.

He reposed at Sweeney's Funeral Home Dromore West on Thursday last from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Requiem Mass on Friday at midday in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, Dromore West, with burial afterwards in Churchill Cemetery. May he Rest in Peace.

New baby

Congratulations to the parents of baby Emily Aoife Conway daughter of Paddy and Bredge Bartra Enniscrone, and husband Pádraig Clince. Congratulations also to the proud grandparents Paddy and Bredge Conway.

Diamond Wedding Anniversary

Congratulations to Edward and Maura Kilcullen of Boat Port Lodge, Cliff Road, Enniscrone, who celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary (60 years). We wish them both continued health.

Walking Club

Next walk is on November 30 - Glinsk. Level moderate, Terrain Open Mountain, length four hours. All walks subject to change pending weather or other conditions at time. Walks start from Enniscrone Tourist Office at 9.30.

Enniscrone Kilgass GAA

The club was very pleased to receive a grant of €37,881 under the Sports Capital Programme for 2019. The money will go towards floodlighting our main playing pitch at Quigabar. Our thanks to those who prepared and submitted our application and to Senator Frank Feighan and Cllr Sinéad Maguire for their efforts. More news on this project in the coming weeks.

Best of luck to the Sligo under-16 footballers in the Fr Manning Cup final next weekend.

Book launch

The Windings of the Moy Revisited is a new book that will be launched in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Friday, November 29, at 8 p.m. The new book by Sligo photographer, Pat McCarrick, is a reworking of the original Windings of the Moy by Rev James Greer (1845 - 1929) and was first published in 1923. All welcome to attend.

Senior Christmas Party

The ladies are hosting a Christmas Market on December 15 in the Diamond Coast Hotel, have a look into Santa's workshop and buy those last gifts, all welcome to attend.

There was no winner of the €8,400 jackpot when the blotto draw took place in Hopkin's bar last weekend. Kilglass Enniscrone United FC

Kilglass Enniscrone soccer club is holding two quiz nights in Gilroy's Bar and Sheridan's Bar for' Eddie and Gerry' chosen charities. First quiz in Gilroy Bar Friday, December 6. All proceeds from both have chosen charities the Oncology Unit Sligo General and little people of Ireland. Billy Varley will be the quiz master on the night pleases support. More details to follow.

KEFC under-12 girls' team registered their first win on Saturday, November 9, with a very convincing performance against Ballisodare United. Goals from Ava Hallinan, Laoise Carden, Roise Egan and Tara Arthur helped to secure the three point win. The future looks bright for this great bunch of girls. Training continues Monday evening 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Social Bridge Club

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed play at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at seven. As usual a very enjoyable night was had at Bridge in the Diamond Coast Hotel. 32 people played. Eight tables. The winners N/S Anne Freeman and Loretta Tuffy E/W Anne and John Fleming. Hard to believe it is only 2 weeks till our annual turkey competition where has that year gone.

Afternoon Tea Dance
