Castleconnor: Castleconnor Amateur Dramatic Society presents a new two-act comedy 'The Morning Show' in Castleconnor Community Centre on Friday Saturday and Sunday, March 8, 9, 10.

The Morning Show is set in the fictitious Coast FM radio station and centres on a Monday morning radio show with a host under the weather after a wild weekend. He's not the only one however dealing with the aftermath of the weekend as we meet his guests and Co-host and with the interviews he has to so it will be a morning to remember for all the wrong reasons.

Directed by Gretta Harrison this comedy was written by Tom Tuffy and features 11 in the cast. John Gawley, Enda Geoghegan, Vincent Igoe, Tom Tuffy, David Boland, Christina Anderson, Elaine Price, Anna Maria Gilmartin and Pauline Boland, Gretta Harrison and Neil Boland.

Community games

Congratulations to Ben Cawley, who came third in the recent Sligo County mixed distance relay, taking home a well earned bronze medal. Also well done to Lily Creighton, who won bronze in the county gymnastics and to Jennifer Blakeney, who won silver in the county gymnastics.

25 Card games single hands continue on Wednesday night in Moylough Arts and Heritage Centre at 8.30 p.m. Recent winners included James Reidy, Martin Rogan, Minchel Fleming, Betty Mac, and Nathy Wins. Raffle winners were Pierce Henry, Alice McSorley, John Brennan, Michael Devaney, Michael Fleming, Paul Flannery, and Liam Murphy. Proceeds are in aid of the centre - new players are always welcome.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Anne Marie McGuire, Moylough and Damien Rogers, who celebrated their marriage in St Patrick's church Moylough recently, parish priest Fr Leo Henrywas the celebrant. On Friday last, Grainne Brennan Leitrim South and Derek Foye Tubbercurry were joined in matrimony in Moylough Church with the ceremony performed by her uncle Fr Kieran Morahan and Fr Martin Jennings s PP Laura Reid and Michael Killelea, Loughlynn celebrated the sacrament of marriage in the Church of the Immaculate Conception C curry. Parish priest Fr Leo Henry was the celebrant. Very best wishes are extended to the happy couples and their families.

First Confession

Congratulations to all the children from second class in St Patrick's NS Moylough, who celebrated the sacrament of First Confession last Wednesday evening.

Death

The death occurred recently in Woodside New York of Chris Lynn (née Feely), Moylough. Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated in St Patrick's Church Moylough on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Sincere sympathy is extended to her husband John, sons Kieran and Raymond, sisters Maura, Patricia (Mountain Road), Sr. Frances (NY) and brother Pa Manchester, nephews, nieces, and a large circle of relations and friends.

Collection thanks

The organisers of a recent church gate collection in aid of Simon held at churches in the parish last weekend wish to thank the subscribers for their generosity.

Election launch night

Barry Gallagher, local Independent candidate in the upcoming local elections, is holding a launch night in Yeats County Inn Hotel in Curry on Friday, March 8, at 9 p.m. to mark the start of his campaign to be the voice for your community. Barry looks forward to meeting you on the night to discuss your aspirations and concerns for our local area. He will also hold a public meeting in Kilmactigue Community Centre on Wednesday, March 13, at 8 p.m.

Easkey-Dromore West

Easkey GAA

There is a membership registration morning on Saturday, March 9, in Easkey Community Centre from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is for all age groups both football and hurling and non-playing members. It is essential you register your child for the 2019-year to ensure they are eligible to play upcoming training sessions and matches.

School enrolments

Dromore West Central National School are holding an open evening on Thursday, March 7, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please contact the school for an admission form.

Public meeting

A public meeting will be held in the Factory, Easkey on Wednesday, March 6, at 8 p.m. There will be an update from the Delegates on any progress since the last Public Meeting on January15 ; after which we hope to consult with and listen to the wishes of everyone present and then decide what Easkey wants to do next.

St Patrick's Day parade

West Sligo annual St Patrick's Day parade starts in Enniscrone at 1 p.m. at the Diamond Coast Hotel continues on to Easkey to start at 3 p.m. and then onto Dromore West for a 4 p.m. start. There will be refreshments and entertainment in the Dromore West Community Centre immediately after the parade.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

Darkness into Light

Dromore West will host Darkness into Light again this year on May 11 at 4.15 a.m. in aid of Pieta House and Suicide prevention. Senior Scor

Well done to Frances Hanley from St Farnan's GAA who won the Recitation at Senior Scor held in Kilmacowen Hall recently. The quiz team of John and Frances Hanley, Seán Kilgannon and Martin Mulligan came second. Easkey GAA also took part in the Solo singing and quiz.

Dromore West Community Council

The next meeting of Dromore West Community Council CLG will take place on March 5 at 8 p.m. in Dromore West Community Centre.

Dromore West Community Council would like the community to help us going forward in 2019. We would love to hear your ideas of possible groups, classes, services or events you would like to see in the community centre. In particular over the last few weeks a few locals have been in talks about having A Youth Club/After school club started here in the village. The next walk on March 9 is Slish Wood, Sligo. Level: Easy. Terrain: Track and Trail. Length: three hours. All walks start from Enniscrone Tourist Office at 9.30 a.m. unless stated otherwise. All walks subject to change pending weather or other conditions at the time.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA

Intermediate: Our Intermediate team will get their 2019 season under way competitively with a Benson Cup quarter-final at home to Easkey or Bunninadden on March 23/24.

Indoor coaching - Underage coaching continues every Friday evening in our astroturf building. Under-eight is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., under-10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and under-12 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lourdes Trip Fundraiser

Frances O'Grady (née Neary) of Carrowmorris, Dromard is travelling to Lourdes on Easter Sunday 2019 with a Special Needs Youth Group and she would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to a recent fundraiser which was held in aid of this trip. Pre-School Vaccine

All children aged four years of age are due their Pre-School Vaccine before starting school next September. The vaccine is available at the Skreen Family Practice in the Health Centre and is free of charge. To avail of this service, contact the Health Centre to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Pre-School AGM

The AGM of the Skreen-Dromard Community Pre-School will take place on March 12 at 7.30 p.m. in the school.

Community Care Outing

The Skreen-Dromard Community Care Group are organising a two-day trip to Donegal with hotel accommodation at the Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny on May 14 and 15. The cost of the trip is €150 per person room sharing. Single room supplement of €22 per night will apply.
