Visit by German Choir
Evening vespers liturgical music of the Orthodox Church were sung by the Eastern Liturgical choir of the diocese of Augsburg from Kempton Germany in St Patrick's Church Moylough Friday evening last during their Irish tour.
The large congregation who gathered led by parish priest Fr Leo Henry and Brian Cahill thoroughly enjoyed the vespers rendered by the choir which were celebrating fifty six years since their formation. A presentation of a framed photograph of the group was presented by Brian Cahill and Fr Leo Henry presented them with a Galway crystal vase as a memento of their visit.
Refreshments were served by the ladies committee in the Heritage Centre afterwards. Leader of the visiting group Brahin Fritz expressed their appreciation to the community for their friendly reception and participation, stating their visit to Moylough was a highlight of their 2019 tour to Ireland.
The late Oliver Brennan r.i.p.
The death took place of Oliver Brennan, Chimney Park, and Moylough last week in St Anne's Nursing home Charlestown. His remains lay in repose in St Therese's Funeral Home Curry on Wednesday evening. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick's Church Moylough. Burial took place to Rhue Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to his sister Carmel Groarke, Bellaghy, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
IHF Mobile Health Unit
The Irish Heart Foundation's Mobile Health Unit is coming to Enniscrone on Wednesday, July31. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be located beside Enniscrone Library/Family Recourse Centre on Pier Road.
This is a Free Heart health check to the public which includes a blood pressure and pulse check, Heart health information and lifestyle advice.
GAA World Games
Three Easkey natives will feature with Australasia GAA at the 2019 Renault GAA World Games which takes place between Sunday, July 28, and August 1 at Waterford IT's sport campus. James Rolston is part of the Australasia Irish born Gaelic football team, Louise Lindsay is on the Irish born Ladies' Gaelic football squad and Ollie Gordon coaches the native born Gaelic football team. James Rolston is a former Sligo and Easkey player, Louise Lindsay was a member of the Eoghan Rua LGFC and Ollie Gordon was on the Western Gaels senior hurling team before the trio moved to Australia.
The county Community Games athletic finals were held at IT Sligo on Saturday, June 22. Well done to the Easkey group who won the parade trophy and to the Skreen-Dromard and Dromore West/Templeboy, who were joint third.
Rock 'n' Roll Bingo
St Patrick's GAA Club will hold a Rock'n' Roll Bingo at the Beach Bar on Friday, July 19, at 9 p.m.
The under-14 girls and boys of West Sligo had a busy weekend at the John West Féile 2019. Well done to the girls from the Eoghan Rua club who won the Shield Final having played a total of six games over three days and finishing at the centre of Excellence, Ballyhaunis when they defeated St Ciaran's of Roscommon on in the final. This is the clubs first ever win in the Féile. Thanks to Ken and Dorothy Foley of Supermac's Ballina, who presented the under-14 team and management with a set of training tops sponsored by Papa John's Pizza for the Féile.
Congratulations to the following couples who got married recently James Wilson, Larkhill, Beltra and Rachel Devins, Sligo, who were married in St Adamnan's Church, Skreen. Enda McTiernan, High Park, Dromard and Aoife Henry Tourlestrane, who were married in Italy and Celine Ryan, Templeboy and Dermot Taaffe.

The death has taken place in England of Nancy Brockwell née Conway, Castletown, Easkey.

9 Peaks, 9 Weeks, 9 Years Old!
Carwyn Wood is nine years old pupil in Rathlee National School and wants to raise money for his school over the summer holidays to resurface the playing yard which is rough and gravelly.

Congratulations to Nicola Tuffy daughter of Liam and Loretta Tuffy Frankfurt, Enniscrone on her marriage to Patrick McGuinness of Castleconnor, which took place last Saturday, June 29. The Wedding Ceremony took place in the Church of Our Lady Assumed Into Heaven Enniscrone.
The Chief Celebrant was Fr Eddie Rogan with Con Celebrant parish priest Fr Des Kelly Castleconnor. The bridesmaid was Louise Tuffy sister of the Bride and Best man was Tomas Cawley. The reception was held in the Diamond Coast Hotel. We wish the young couple a long and happy life together.
Jesus and Mary Secondary School leaving Cert Class held their Graduation on June 27 the students left Enniscrone by bus for dinner in the Radisson Hotel Sligo followed by a disco in Toff's Night Club Sligo.

Our Intermediate footballers have a vital league match at home to St Patrick's next Sunday at 2 p.m. Please support the team. Junior B: Our Junior B footballers booked their place in the Division Four semi-finals with a comprehensive 5-18 to 1-9 win over Coolera/Strandhill at Ransboro last Sunday. They are scheduled to play St Mary's in the semi-final with a time, date and venue to be confirmed. Our under-14s represented the club with pride at Féile.
PeilenanÓg over the past weekend. While results did not go the way of an under-strength team, they were wonderful hosts for our visitors St Manchan's who ended as winners of the Division Ten Cups. We were delighted to host a great bunch who represented Offaly very well both on and off the field. A huge thank you to all parents and volunteers who helped in any way over the course of a busy weekend. Congratulations to our local ladies' club, Eoghan Rua, on winning the Division Eight shield title. On the local front this week, our under-14s exited the league at the semi-final stage after a 6-12 to 1-10 loss against Shamrock Gaels.
Our under-12 footballers had a good win over Castleconnor on Tuesday evening, winning on a score line of 0-19 to 0-5. They play Geevagh away on Tuesday, July 9, Nursery - Our under-six GAA nursery program continues every Monday from 6.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the indoor astroturf in Quigabar. This is for boys and girls born in 2013 and 2014. Kids are asked to wear appropriate gear and bring bottle of water.
County scene - Commiserations to the Sligo minors on their semi-final loss to Mayo in the Connacht Championship last Wednesday. While it was a disappointing end to the campaign, the lads can reflect on a positive year of progress. Well done to manager Michael Duffy and players Gavin Duffy and Oisin Hynes on their efforts and congratulations to Gavin on being voted at Electric Ireland's minor footballer of the week for his display against Roscommon. This week, the Sligo under-20s will be hoping for better fortunes against the same opposition when they travel to Mac.
