Castleconnor Charity Match: Thanks to everyone who supported our Charity Match today. It was a great success, our Charity Match held on December 27, in memory of clubmate Jack O'Hora. Approx €8,000 was raised for St Nicholas and St Dympna's Special Schools in Ballina. In November 2018, Jack O'Hora died tragically and this afternoon Castleconnor GAA Club hosted a special match in his honour in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Jack was proud to wear the colours of both Castleconnor GAA and Ballina RFC and members of both clubs togged out for a match filled with thrills, spills and excitement. Castleconnor is a key feeder area for our Mini and Youths sections and when the O'Hora family invited Ballina RFC to take part in today's match a number of Jack's old teammates jumped at the chance to honour their friend and teammate. More than 40 players of all ages and abilities were involved and the turnout was a true testament to the community spirit, which abounds in Castleconnor.
