Carraroe: Carraroe Walking Group - The next walk is on Monday, July 8. Meet at Community Centre at 10.50am for registration. Walk starts sharp at 11am and lasts one hour. New people always welcome come join us to Boost your overall health, connect with your local community and most importantly have fun.

St John's GAA Club

Help Keep our Area Clean

Remember many hands make light work. Anyone willing to pick on their own road is welcome to get involved; we will supply plastic bags, picker, gloves and Hi-Vis. The bags can be left at the dedicated location at Community Centre each Monday evening or early Tuesday morning for collection and disposal.

Cúl Camp

The Kellogg's Cúl Camp for ages 6-13 will run from July 15 to July 19 at Stenson Park, Cuilbeg. Places are limited. Visit website to book a place at kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie.

Heritage Week Water Project

Michael Bell will conduct a Nature Walk on shores of Lough Gill to learn about the wildlife around the Lough on Tuesday, August 20, 19. Meet at Slish Wood car park at 10.30 Free Admission. We are planning to have a catering cart tea or coffee etc and to facilitate numbers please contact cadrasligo1@gmail.com or any committee member.

Active Retired Seniors Alarm

If you know anyone in any of 12 counties interested in having the system it can be arranged by Cadra Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to wear the pendent at all times including in bed. New Speed Warning Light

Residents are now asking for a warning light as you travel from Pet Hospital to Holywell. Our Newly Elected councillors are being approached by residents to have this provided.

Defibrillators

Please note the Defibs are located at Community Centre and Community Field Clubhouse. The code is posted beside the machine. Please be aware CCTV is in operation.

Dancing in Carraroe

All learners and experienced dancers catered for at these sessions so come and enjoy. Dance class followed by live band each Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo. Dance class commences at 8.30 p.m. with live band from 9.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Light refreshments served - For more information contact Frank at 087 9809432.

Parking

Please use the designated car parks which includes around the community centre. Plenty of parking is available in safe locations. Please avoid parking on the main roads. It obstructs passing traffic and view of people leaving the community centre and church.

Church news

Carraroe Parish Choir: rehearsal on Mondays at 8 p.m. in the church. If you can sing and would like to be part of a community choir, please come along. More male singers are required.

The sick and Housebound: Mass is on 107FM Just tune your radio before Mass. Please let the housebound know about this service in your area.

MCR

Summer Camp

MCR Kids Lane summer camps for children five to 12 years will take place from July 8 to July 12, July 15 to July 19, July 22 to July 26, July 29 to August 2. Cost €65 per child family discounts available. Fun Arts Crafts and Full day outing. Places are limited so early booking advisable contact Trish or Lizzy at 071 9146512 to book.

Kids Lane

Playgroup enrolling now for September 2019. Open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday. Free ECCE year and subvention available TUSLA registered/qualified staff, fun filled curriculum, Aistear and Siolta programmes. Purpose built outdoor play area. Healthy snacks provided daily. Active Retirement

The Active Retirement group is closed for summer vacations and will re-commence on September 10.

Baby Clinic

Clinic has resumed on Wednesdays between 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. (no appointment necessary). If you need to see a Public Health Nurse please phone 071 9155100 ext 5277 Monday-Friday between 9.30 and 10.30 to arrange an appointment.

Aikido classes

Hall hire

Our Centre is available for room and hall hire at very competitive rates, and we offer excellent facilities for sports, meetings, parties and social events, including our sports hall, changing rooms with showers etc. Our hall is very popular for sports events, and also for children's parties as it can accommodate a bouncy castle. Merville

Pre-school childcare

Dreamchasers Childcare Service at Merville have morning places for Pre-School Children under the EECE Free Preschool Year Programme available for September 2019. The Early Childhood and Education programme (ECCE) provides children with their first formal experience of early learning before they start primary school.

The programme is provided for three hours per day, five days per week over 38 weeks per year. The ECCE term runs from September to June each year. Children are eligible for two full programme years of ECCE Children must be at least two years and eight months of age by August 31 of the year of entry to the programme.

Pendant alarms

Merville Community Centre facilitate on behalf of our community the provision to eligible persons of Social Monitored Pendant Alarms, under the Seniors Alert Scheme that is administered by Pobal Equipment Funding is available for eligible persons over 65 years for the installation of an monitored alarm on a landline in the persons home.

The Alarms are now available Persons age 65 or older and living alone, living with another person who meets the terms and conditions, living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. First year monitoring is now free for all new applicants. Subsequent annual monitoring charges are then payable by the user. Contact Merville Centre Office at 071 9150029 for further information.

The Main Hall and Astro Pitch is Available for Children's Parties at Weekends Only at very Competitive Prices. Contact the centre office at 071 9150029 for details.

Extra spaces available

The Merville Centre have some extra Weekday Evening slots available in the Main Hall available for Hire by Local Groups and Activity Classes. Special Introductory Rates for New Long Term Bookings.
