Mark said his first experience of Manorhamilton Show was 'in 2010 when I was invited to act as pet's judge.' He added 'little did I think then that I would be here tonight as show chairperson.'.

Some years after the 2010 Show Mark returned to live in Glenboy, where he runs his veterinary surgeon's practice. He also stated that he was at all times 'very impressed with the community spirit that was part of Manorhamilton Show.'.

Our pre-Christian ancestors knew for many hundred years that the sun's path across the sky, the length of daylight, and the location of the sunrise and sunset all shifted in a regular way throughout the year. They built monuments, such as Newgrange to follow the sun's yearly progress.

Meantime the North Leitrim Men's Group hopes to see everyone coming out on Friday for Manorhamilton's first ever 'Longest Day Celebrations.'.
