There has been an incredible response so far from businesses wishing to support the facility. The park offers an excellent promotional site for businesses due to its location on the N17 and because of all the various groups who use the facility. Contact Ollie Lee at 087 7981827for details.
25 Card Game

The community of Cloonacool are embarking on a local festival event this September that will highlight the theme of Sheep Farming and the traditions for which the region is renowned. The event itself will include activities such as sheep class competitions, novelty events, and exhibits and displays on the theme. A dance, with music by John Hogan, opens the festival, which will take place on the weekend of September 21 and 22 in Cloonacool Village.
We continue our appeal for new contributors to this weekly column. All correspondence can be sent to email@example.com.
Traffic Plan at School
Carraroe school opened yesterday and we welcome all new and returning pupils. Parents are reminded there is an agreed traffic management protocol in place and all parents are requested to observe the agreed protocol. Parents are requested not to park on double yellow lines or block entrances to local residents' houses. Such behaviour obstructs other parents exiting the carpark and causes delays in exiting as the two lanes cannot be used. Parking on main road at roundabout where double lines exist places children at risk apart from it being illegal.
Our Monday walk on September 9 is in Union Wood led by Mary Dunbar. Meet in car park at Union Ballygawley Road Thanks to K & D Developments for offer of bathroom facilities at its premises. Please spread the word to all card players. Inexperienced players welcome. Looking forward to meeting our many friends for a nice game and chat.
Campaign for Town Bus Service
Cadra is continuing to campaign to have this service restored to Carraroe Retail Park and extended down to the Carraroe Community Centre. We are advised the National Transport Authority is now reviewing the Sligo Town Service and look forward to having an input into this process.
We are advocating there should be a service to Carraroe which would allow people from Ballygawley, Ballintogher, Ballisadare park in Carraroe and take bus to town. We are aware all that is required to allow this proposal is a 10-minute extension to the existing service. All residents are requested to write to their elected local and national representatives requesting they support the campaign.
