Rebecca scoops fashion awards
A SLIGO fashion designer has scooped two top prizes at the prestigious Goldenegg Fashion Innovation Awards in Galway.
25-year old Rebecca Marsden, from Tully, Calry, won the Fashion Design of the Year Award and the Irish Fashion Innovation Award.
Her entry was a six piece collection that showcased knitwear, accessory pieces, various textures and her autumn/winter collection.
Soon after graduation in 2012, she was a winner of a young designers competition in Milan.
Rebecca is a former student of Sligo Grammar School and Limerick College of Art and Design.
She was also presented with the Limerick IT award for the most Innovative use of materials in a graduate collection.
Her designs have been on display Brown Thomas in Dublin
She has been interested in design from an early age.
She said: "I loved looking at all the old musicals and the costumes. It's something I wanted to pursue and it's nice to get recognition."
