New book on tracing Leitrim ancestors

If you have ancestors in Leitrim that you want to find more about then an event coming up soon could be of interest.

Ancestor Network and Leitrim Genealogy Centre are launching A Guide to tracing your Leitrim Ancestors by author and genealogist in The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon on Thursday, May 17th at 6.00pm.

The launch is part of a Leitrim Genealogy Evening with talks on Emigration and on Rentals as a family history resource.

Tracing your Leitrim Ancestors is a comprehensive guide to the records available for tracing families in Leitrim and how they can be accessed in Irish archives and on-line.

The author, Tom Coughlan, is a local genealogist, and the book will be launched by Seán O'Súilleabháin, ex-County Librarian and founder of Leitrim Genealogy Centre.

The meeting is co-hosted by Leitrim Genealogy Centre, the primary source of information on the county and Ancestor Network who provide national services in tracing families and in publishing guides and reference works for family historians. The title, published by Flyleaf Press, is priced at €14.
