Cooking challenge for Noel
Six nervous local personalities will be showing off their culinary skills, or lack thereof, for a worthy cause when Come Cook With Us visits the Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone on Thursday, May 9th, 2019.
The fundraiser is in aid of the Kennedy Family Trust (www.facebook.com/kennedyfamilytrust) which has been set up to help father and son Noel and Adam Kennedy to adapt their family home to meet their needs.
Ireland AM celebrity chef Joe Shannon, whose day job is overseeing the Radisson Blu Hotel kitchen in Sligo, will be the ringleader for the event. He will be shepherding six local celebrities - in teams of two - through two separate cooking challenges on the night, but expect plenty of laughter and high-jinks mixed in with the salt and pepper.
Comedian Frank Forde will be MC for the event and as well as the action on stage and in amongst the audience, there will also be some fabulous spot prizes up for grabs on the night.
The six stars donning the aprons and chef's hats on the night are: Sligo GAA manager and councillor Paul Taylor; SlimWay entrepreneur (and Joe Shannon's sister) Bernie O'Donnell, well known Ballisodare fundraiser James McLoughlin; energetic Easkey woman Caroline Rolston, businessman and local election candidate, Blair Feeney and well known charity auctioneer Niall Canning.Tickets for the show are just €15 each and can be bought in advance from any of the six contestants taking part, from the Record Room in Sligo Town, from the Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone or by calling Mary on 085-7444282, Charlie on 087-2331813 or Rob on 086-9090698.
Noel Kennedy, a well known photographer for many years throughout County Sligo, is making a slow recovery from a heart operation earlier this year in the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
His son, Adam, now 14, was born with dwarfism and autism. As a result their family home simply isn't suitable at present.
The Trust aims to raise €150,000 to extend the family home in Skreen.
