MOST BABY news at the moment is coming from London as royal fans camp outside St. Mary's hospital.

However, a baby boy made a rather dramatic entry into the world at the weekend, with the assistance of the Strandhill-based Coast Guard.

The new baby becomes the first to be born with the help of the new Sikorsky S-92 helicopter.

The search and rescue crew carried out an emergency medical evacuation from Arranmore island in Co. Donegal on Friday night.

A spokesperson for the Malin Coast Guard said:

"We received an emergency call at 8.20pm. The Sligo-based helicopter was dispatched and left Arranmore island at 21:13, arriving at Letterkenny hospital eleven minutes later."
