Funeral of crash victim
The funeral took place last Saturday of Seamus Kelly who was killed following a collision, involving a van and his jeep on the R284 at Jinks Cross, Carraroe on Tuesday last at around 7pm.
Mr Kelly, in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the van was taken to Sligo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mr Kelly, 9 Cartron Village, Sligo and formerly Carricknagat, Ballintogher was a former member of nursing staff at St Columba's Hospital, Sligo.He is survived by his wife Mary, son Trevor and daughter Amanda. Funeral Mass took place at the Church of the Assumption, Sooey on Saturday with burial afterwards in Killery Cemetery.
Local councillor, Thomas Walsh said Mr Kelly Seamus was a very respected and valued member of the community. He was involved in farming in the community, was a member of St Michael's GAA, an avid Liverpool FC, Sligo Rovers and proud GAA supporter.
