"I decided to do this event and raise some very necessary funds for the wonderful work that these amazing people do.

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and after chemotherapy, surgery radiotherapy I pulled through and I am one of the lucky ones to be still be here.

"Sligo Cancer Support have been there for me when I needed some help and I was amazed at how warm and loving and sympathetic they are.

"They listen, they wipe away your tears and always have a cup if tea and a comfy chair for you.

"This is my way of thanking them," said Elizabeth.

She has received much support in hosting the exhibition.

Feehilys florists has donated some of their wonderful flowers for the gallery while Hargadons have donated wine and glasses, and Louis Doherty antiques have donated an antique table for the length of the exhibition.

There will also be a donation box on the premises for the month and out of each piece of art sold, 5% will go to Sligo Cancer Support.

"I do hope that we will have the support of local people to drop in and just have a look at some of the artists exhibiting and join us in raising some money for these wonderful people who give some much of their time to being there for all affected by this dreadful disease," said Elizabeth.
