Loosen up at the Left Bank

Letting loose on the music scene, the aptly named band, Republic of Loose, will play the Left Bank this Thursday.

And joining them will be Belfast band, Leya who were recently voted Best Irish Newcomers by Hot Press readers in their annual poll.

Republic of Loose have been performers on the world stage since 2001, emerging as the most exciting live act and quickly garnering a loyal fan base.

Their mesmerising live performances has lead to tour support with the Neville Brothers, the Thrills, the Zutons, the Scissor Sisters, Alabama 3, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Snow Patrol, The Roots, Dilated Peoples, as well as festival appearances at Glastonbury, T in the park,the Fleadh, Oxygen and the Transmusicale, Nice Jazz and Furia Sound festivals in France.

The band have also claimed the Rolling Stones, Howlin’ Wolf, Al Green, James Brown, Prince, Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown as their influences.

Their debut album “This is the Tomb of the Juice” was released in 2004, while their single "Comeback Girl" was released in July last year and "You Know It" released in October.

They have also completed successful headline tours in the UK and Ireland and are currently recording material for their second album.
