Group exhibition at the Appleloft

After the very successful first solo exhibition by Sligo based artist Orla Kenny which ends on the25th June, the Appleloft will host a group show with a distinctive collection of art by up and coming Irish talent and more established artists.

The show includes new work by painters who have previously exhibited in the loft gallery and introduces new artists never seen before at the Appleloft.

Also in the exhibition are some well-known international artists, with new work by Jack Crabtree and Iorwen James and introducing the work of Spanish artist Felix Anaut.

Felix has been invited to exhibit in the Florence Biennial this December.

Felix Anaut was born in Zaragoza, Spain, he studied fine art at "L’Ecole de Montparnasse d'Art et Dessin in Paris, and has painted in Tangier, Ibiza Ireland and France. He is exhibiting some paintings from the "Tauromaquia" series, an abstract and beautiful treatment of the bull fight-"a terrible beauty". Felix will have a solo exhibition next year at the Appleloft.

We have new work by Derval Symes who had a very successful first solo exhibition at the Appleloft in 2000 and work by Cara Thorpe who exhibited in the Brunswick Studios group show also in 2000. John Brady, Mike Bernard, Paddy Lennon, Marianne Heemskerk, Mo Moloney, Orla Kenny, Tony O Dwyer are among the artists in this show. We are also showing work by graduates of the Sligo IT Degree show. This is an exciting exhibition with a wide range of work in a beautiful exhibition space and is well worth the visit. We hope to see you here.

The opening times are 10am-6pm Wednesday - Sunday and we are open Bank Holiday Mondays. Easkey is on the Sligo/Ballina coast road. For information please contact Denise Clarke on 096 49432.
